Day 8
Sailed from Deadmans Bay to Norman Island (Treasure
Island) - then past the US Virgins and through Sopers Hole rounding Little
Thatch Island and then north to Sandy Cay - here Jen and Peter swam
ashore.
Late afternoon, and we set off for Jost Van Dyke
Island - we anchored in the Great Harbour ( Island population 200 - Town
Poulation 190 ). Wandered ashore in our best dresses, and shirts, and fine
dined at Ali Baba`s West Indian Restuarant for $131.10 ! The entertainment
was the Virgin Gospel Radio live phone - in - "Praise the Lord" ( Well it
was Easter Sunday.. ) We tried to blend in ... but we looked a very
English family set.
Cap`n Pete and Helen started the evening with a
couple of Painkillers, whilst Jen stuck to the trusted Pinacolada
formula.
We were the only guests...everyone else just came
to watch and meditate as the sun set - old ladies, young children, and several
mangey dogs. We were, as always quite delighted with the experience - the
service from 12 year old Weslow was well up to West End standards! ( Including
the swollen 15% service charge!)
Quite night at anchor in the
bay.
