As we hoped the winds held constant for most of the day. We had a blistering sail and cracked along at 10 knots - surfing down the big rollers and luffing up the crests - exhillarting and great fun. At 4am these fresh Easterlies gave way to a mixture of squalls - with lightening - and heavy downpours. We motored through the calm for 2 hours and then set sail again for the remainder of this morning.
Of course the rain gave the boat a good soaking and cleared off the salt from the last couple of weeks  - after an early morning Chamois - Matchmaker was looking bright and shiney in the new day sunshine.
The days run was a much better 193 miles - and again all direct to our waypoint.
