What a difference in 24 hours!  We appear to have crossed to the north of the high pressure ridge (barometer peaked at 1032) and are now enjoying clear skies with occasional white 'puffy' clouds, reduced swell and lighter winds currently from the north but gradually backing we expect to north west and possibly west.  The only casualties of our Beaufort Force 6 and 5 metre swell experience appear to be one radar reflector lost overboard from upper spreader and no wind speed indication although the cups are still rotating aloft (a passing cargo ship bound for New Orleans provided wind stength and forecast, and a friendly chat).

Starcross and crew are drying out, and a hearty brunch of bacon and hamburger sandwiches on fresh baked white bread with coffee has revived spirits.  It is looking good for a reach/run all the way to Camaret over the next 4 days.
