Good morning readers!! So we've completed our first night! We set off yesterday and after a couple of hours the wind dropped to less than 10 knots. We weren't getting anywhere quick (doing 4 knots and less) so decided to motor until we found the blowy stuff. Eventually about six hours later the wind increased back to 11 knots, so we ran again with main and code 0 into the night. Wind steadily increased to 18 knots and more so we put away the code 0 and continued with full main and genoa on a course of 074 with the wind behind us. Throughout the night the wind increased to 21 knots and gusting 25 and above. We were surfing down 2 metre swell doing 13 knots at times, really flying! It got a bit more tricky from 0400 onwards as the wind has veered ESE but the swell hasn't shifted with it yet which is throwing the boat around a bit and people out there beds! We're reefed in now as the autopilot is struggling to cope with it and likes to luff every now and again which is entertaining to say the least! With the wind shifting due to a high moving east, we have jibed and currently trying to hold the most Easterly course we can. We'll get a new weather update while sending this blog and see where we go from there.

Fishing: Still no takers yesterday despite our new lures. This is most dissappointing!

Pic of day: Morning sunrise....it's looking rather atlantic this morning!
