ACTIVITIES:
After a few days of rough weather we have finally picked up wind going in the right direction and the swell has settled in from the north. The waves have died down and we have the Code Zero up along with the head sail and the main sail and are cruising along at 7.2 knots with 9.6 knots of apparent wind and 11 knots of true wind. The sky is bright and there are a few white fluffy clouds about.

Ed managed to get some sleep last night and so did Rean. Jan and Julian have no problem in that department! Ed stays awake as he wants to be ready when the has to abandon ship. Rean stays awake as he is worried about the boat breaking apart. All is now calm and both have been able to get some much needed kip.

Julian has slowed down on the eating. This is a good thing, as we might run out of food if his eating habits continue! It is calm enough to give the boat a good clean and tidy (It really needs it!) We are hoping to continue this course for the next few days and then head a little south down to the islands. The hard part seems to be behind us and the next leg should be easier.

We are now half way across the Atlantic and have only 1500 miles to go. We plan on taking a dip later on if the wind slackens, as Jan won't alow the boys to dangle off the back of the boat when it is moving at this speed.

None of us has had a shave since we left and we are all looking rather seaman like.
