ACTIVITIES:
We have now put the pole up and poled out the genoa and this has made a difference in handling and speed. We have entered an area of squalls. Every hour or so we we are caught by a squall and are scooted along at 9-11 knots, today we managed almost 15 knots during a squall with wind speeds touching 40 knots.

A shackle on the head sail worked it's way loose during the night and we had to make a plan to secure it with a spare pin and duct tape. It seems to be holding. The seas have picked up as a result of the constant squall situation and it is bit bumpy out with 12 feet of swells and waves.

We are on course at the moment, but we have to maintain this course to get to Antigua with the wind keeping in the same direction or we will have to change sail positions and it will slow us down.
