We arrived in St Bart's yesterday morning. Having tried to pick up a
mooring in the inner harbour, we then moved to an anchorage outside. in
the process we managed to get half the boat covered in muddy slime from
the strange bow & stern mooring system in the inner harbour. All that
before we found out that it was a private mooring and we couldn't stay
there! Anyway, the muddy slime was cleaned off in a jiffy. St Bart's
main port Gustavia is often described as the St Tropez of the Caribbean
- not a big attraction for us but interesting none the less.
Anyway................... we are staying here until Monday to get Gas
bottles refilled and a few other weekday jobs. We plan to then hire a
car on Tuesday to get to some of the beaches on the windward side of the
island. On Tuesday evening we hope to move round to a nice secluded
beach anchorage in the North of the Island.
Today's agenda is Homework followed by snorkelling and roast dinner
(pork chops). There is a wreck just by us where it was reported by some
friends that SHARKS were seen - fingers crossed as we are running out of
time!!
Good news - George has got a place at St Laurence (same school as Louis).
