We are in Bequai - anchored in Admiralty Bay. We left Laborie
yesterday morning and had a pretty lively trip town the windward
coast of St Vincent. We had amazing Squalls of rain and wind. But
don't worry - its hot and sunny again now! Sibilation and Turbo made
the trip as well so it should be a good Christmas. We saw turtles as
we left the anchorage yesterday. On the trip down we had higher
winds and faster boat speed than on the whole atlantic crossing. We
shall stay here for about a week - maybe move round to Friendship
Bay on Boxing day as the snorkelling there is meant to be superb. HAPPY CHRISTMAS to everyone. Its definitely the most bizarre Christmas we have ever had. See the Monkey tree below! The Anchorage at Laborie - BEWARE THE CHARTS AND THE PILOT BOOKS ARE WRONG!!! On our way out we had to go OVER the reef shown on the chart to be in the right channel. 2 yachts went aground in the 48 hours we were there. Bearing in mind that there were only a maximum of 3 anchored at any time - it has to be rated as "tricky". But it was stunning and totally local - not for tourists. The draughts championships are ongoing... Gros Piton - an amazing place to anchor - considering that the sea floor shelves at the same angle as the mountain side - you have to be VERY close to the shore to get hooked up. It made for a fun night. Night Swimming! Thats all folks! |
