Frankie & the boys arrived safely yesterday and bought sunshine and northerly winds! Its so nice to see them. Last night we walked round the old walled town where a medival festival is taking place this week, great atmosphere and great food. I can get used to this!

The Spanish armada set off from Coruna many years ago and the British retaliated a year after. The stone wall around the town is very impressive, as are the balconies on the six story town houses lining the promenade. The Hercules light house is Roman and is the worlds oldest working lighthouse. Art and music are prevalent themes here - picasso lived here when he was an early teen!
Anyway - enough of the history lesson.

Today we caught prawns and ate them. Most of them made it to the pan but we discovered that eating them alive is very very good. Here's a story.... On the first night we arrived here I was lying in my bunk nodding to sleep and I could hear a noise like trickling water. Well the noise was either trickling water, electrical crackling or the "snap crackle and pop" of rice crispies. Ian and Jon were enjoying the nightlife and Tom already flown home so I spent about 3 hours pulling up all the floor boards looking for a leak. Exhausted after finding nothing, I went back to bed and resorted to googling the problem. Unbelievably - and with great relief, it transpires that the noise is from "snapping shrimps" that clean the hull! After this discovery I am sleeping much better!

We have just returned from a lovely walk along the mile long break water. We have now spotted 3 ARC flags flying in Coruna - reassuring that we are on the right route.

PS Frankie has said that my comments may have been misunderstood (that I didn't like it here from my reference to Gloucester road) - oh contraire - I love the variety of life and the fact that so much is happening!
