We are anchored in a little pool just inside the entrance to Ria Alvor waiting for the tide to flood so we can progress up the river.   It’s a bird sanctuary and so beautiful.  Having turner the corner from Praia da Luz into Lagos the background scenery has changed dramatically.  We now have trees and gentle mountains rather than the harsh cliffs and stony outcrops.   This looks much more appealing.   We’re launching Puddle and off to explore.
