Land ahoy, me 'earties!!  Next stop on Malekula: Tomman Island, just off the south coast.

The unlikely, super-bubbly Banesta, back from New Zealand to visit her family, persuades Rach to taste their sweet cacao

Tomman Island seemed to sprout ripe, juicy fruit from every tree - just look at all those grapefruit!  Shake the branch with the long pole...

...and catch!

Banesta and the girls were determined we were going to be well stocked.

Eating the best lap-lap we've tasted yet back in the village

Chats with Chief Longlel, who has moved his family to another part of the island to try and retain a more kastom way of life.

Chief Longlel's most prize possession of all - the huge boar he is nurturing, with the hope that his tusks will grow in the coveted complete circle (growing back through his jaw in the process).  He's so fat on all the coconuts he is fed in his enlosed pen, that it is all he can do to stand up to munch his next meal.

Off again, with more fruit than we know what to do with!

At the Maskeleyne Islands off the south east of Malekula, Chesnel takes us to look at the giant clam sanctuary the community have set up

There's one!  In fact there were hundreds...

and the detail of the patterns in the flesh, in every different colour, is astounding.

A few days later... Silly cocktails in Luganville, Vanuatu's second biggest town - we've been engaged for a year!
