Had a good days run yesterday 150 miles and going well today if a little blowy earlier on. Have now jibed towards Faial and with luck should hold this course all the way to Horta tomorrow night. The island next door (Pico) has a big volcano which we should be able to see 40 miles out. We are now 160 away (in a straight line) from Horta doing 6kts so by mid afternoon/late tomorrow barring cloud, rain, fog etc we should be able to see Pico.

There are still several boats on the radio net who are out behind us (one with a broken starter motor and hence no engine) and a couple that we have been talking to will be in before us.

Lovely sunny evening and looking forward to our last night's watches. It will be so nice to get some sleep when we get in. None of us have slept well for the last few nights (particularly Jim and Mike) the rolling motion in a following sea is pretty tough particularly when the sea has had the wind behind it for a while and starts to build up.

Also looking forward to some proper breakfast and a decent restaurant meal. The bubbly is in the fridge.....

0600 on the 3rd, slow night looks like arrival sometime early tomorrow am.
