Tuesday 25th Day 7

Just for a change, as I write this we are actually sailing. The stern wind promised so often has now materialised and we are running at 6 knots in bright sunshine with the  wind steering gear taking the load off the crew. Last night saw us hand steering all night with the motor on which was a bit tedious but at least it was fairly mild and did not rain. We are now nicely positioned for the best of the wind thanks to Graeme, further north it is going to get a bit blowy and further south too light. Where we are now we are doing fine and can move in either direction depending upon how the weather systems develop. Graeme is our shore based crew member looking at the weather forecasts for us and sending emails to help us work out which way to go. The compass light packed in 2 days ago but was on the job list for today, now working again. More whales today, not close enough to see very well but definitely there. The Parasailor (big coloured sail at the front) went up for a while but came down after an hour since despite over 130 years of combined sailing experience we could not get it flying properly. Ian tried selling it to Jim but I don't think he is going to get a sale. Captain Ian is cooking burgers for tea.

With luck we should cross the half way mark tomorrow.

Must go and dress for dinner.

All well.
