After a rather tiring night we are making good
progress in the sunshine under reefed main and genoa. We stayed on 35 deg N (or
tried to) for quite a while trying to stay between worse weather to the
north and light winds to the south. The weather has changed a bit and now we are
starting to head a bit further north to put us on a better course for the
Azores. it looks like we will have fairly strong winds and reasonable seas for
another couple of days.
Had a good sighting of a small whale on the surface
a while ago.
Jim spent last night sleeping (or not!) up forward
after his cabin became rather wet due to a leaky window. Window now fixed and
bedding drying so hopefully it stays that way.
Don't know if you are reading the ARC news from the
sight but one of the boats hit something last night and lost their rudder. The
boat has now been abandoned and they are on a cargo ship which was passing close
and helped out.
