Slow Sunday

Another day of slow progress punctuated by snacking on boat cooked brownies. Yet another use for the boatie frypan which doubles nicely as a non stick baking tray in the oven.

We have just put one of our 2 reserve diesel containers into the tank and had another look at diesel and electricity consumption with the result that the fridge is now off (there was only cheese left that was fresh anyway), the water maker is now off (we should have enough to get us there) and other use is being minimised. Hopefully we can now minimise running the engine to charge the batteries and only run when we want motive power. 400 miles to go and we are still in the situation where we need a couple of good days wind to put us in a good position to motor the rest of the way if we need to.

Listening to the radio today one of the other boats was arranging a rendez vous to swap gas, diesel, wine beer and food with others one due to having run out of food diesel and gas and the other getting short of beer etc. we could have given them tea bags!

Now going better and doing 5kts plus under another moonlit sky, hopefully the wind holds all night and into tomorrow.
