Today we climbed The Nut, not a huge climb but felt like 430m straight up, having old age pensioners on the chair lift above the path shouting encouragement was a bit much. But well worth the climb when we got to the top. Great views over the isthmus and the coast. There are many theories on how the Nut came to be and the favoured one at the moment is that it’s a pipe through which molten lava came up from the earth’s centre.

First weekend papers for a month, starting to get back to the real world. Otherwise a pack up and wait day as we wait for the wind and seas to drop. Hopefully tomorrow we’ll head for Deal Island.

Tonight we made seafood chowder with the gummy shark, not bad at all.
