Well Sydneysiders, you will be happy to know it’s been raining here, and I believe you guys are through the worst of the storms. Type A’s continued to work on the internet while I went and helped Ian give his beloved Gardiner engine an enema aboard Juliene. He had an overheating problem which turned out to be an air block in the fresh water system. He also has a low oil pressure problem, so he has poured some fancy product into the sump which looked like epoxy resin. Should be interesting in a week when we return to see if anything will move.

This afternoon we left Strahan with Cathy and Ian aboard Hove Too, heading towards the Gordon River. First stop is Double Cove which is a very small cove, according to the charts is surrounded by rocks and has no water in it. Ably assisted by my tour guide Ian who  was on his second whisky, we slowly progressed in. All ended well, with plenty of water and a beautiful stop, only problem is one gloating Tasmanian. We went ashore and found Huon Pine, Celery Top , Sassafras and a tiny seeding of King Billy growing in a very old tea tree trunk. It has stopped raining and the birds are singing. Very different from Port Davey as we are in rainforest already. We have the net out and so hopefully some fish tomorrow.

Tomorrow down to Sarah Island to find out about the convicts.
