New Years Eve celebrations in the beautiful town of Bermagui are full pelt if a little different. Beside my parking lot was a shin dig for the fishermen and friends with a band I think. Much noise and a women who sounded in great pain. I managed to go to bed at a reasonable hour to be woken with the fire works and Louie planted on my face. After extraction I went to look at the extravaganza. Mmmmmm. Amazing what a drunk and a lighter can do. Think it went for 30 mins as he fell over after each explosion. Thankfully Hove Too didn’t burn , nor any other boat in the harbor. Back to bed only to be woken at around 4am by the fisherman from next door who brought his mates down for a little fishing before heading home. The live bait tank is about 4feet from my head so from what I could understand that there are a number of female parts required to catch live bait said at the top of your voice. Any way I got up to watch and the best show in town, needless to say no live animals were hurt during this procedure.

Today was a cracker of a day and hardly anybody around. I took the Kayak up the river for a few hours with the incoming tide and waited for the change and came back down again. Awesome pristine bush , spotted gums, birds, mangroves and all the rest and not a sole to see.

This is a magic spot but I think I have said that before. Louie is very keen on the sea gulls and the beaches so life is tough.

Big southerly tomorrow (promise not making it up) then Thursday looks like movement day.

Hope it all still works?

Happy New Year and all the best
