Belated introductions

Apologies again for the blog silence.  We are now reasonably sorted and would like to introduce MIRA (pronounced Meera).  She is a 32’ Sunbeam, vintage 1989.  We  had intended to change her name but we are only her third owner in 25 years and she has always been Mira, so we’ve decided it’s not for us to change after all this time.  The pictures look deceptively organised and I dream of 4 star hotels although, as Gordon pointed out, right now a Travelodge room would feel quite amazing.  I’ve only shown you the tidied parts but we’ve now migrated from sleeping bags in the saloon to a cabin, so that’s real progress and I think I finally disposed of the last bit of the previous owner’s personal baggage this morning when I threw away a toothbrush found lurking at the back of a locker.  We’ve had her electrics checked so I can now charge up the laptop etc and her engine is getting an overhaul at the end of the week.  She’s then booked into the yard here in Gibraltar next month to have all her underwater and mast work done.  The 2014 project is then to leave here in April and sail her up the coast of Spain, Portugal and France, across the Channel and up to, probably, North Shields. She’s currently on the Australian register but I’ve just registered her on the SSR so we’ll be able to fly the red ensign when we leave here.
