My apologies for the blog silence but there have been big changes in our life out here.  We like to surprise from time to time so today’s news is that we have sold Deep Blue.  We always thought we would sell her when we got back to the UK but, by chance, we met the Boatshed broker for Gibraltar who suggested she'd sell well out here - gateway to the Med and the Atlantic etc so we thought we’d see what happened.  To cut a long story short we've now sold her although we've taken a small motor boat in part exchange, which John will now sell for us. We've also found a 32' yacht which is much older and a bit of a project so we signed papers on her on Tuesday and moved her over to Gib yesterday. The plan is to get her ready to sail by the Spring and then sail her back home ready for new adventures, to arrive back in the UK at the end of June/beginning of July as planned. Nothing has turned out as expected on this trip but we're happy with the turn of events, it feels like a good start to 2014.
