DAY 41 CAPE TOWN TO FREO 28th January 2011

We awoke to be greeted by the news that cyclone Bianca was moving down the west coast of Australia ready to greet us, not very friendly don't you know.
Further investigation revealed that it will not affect us as it should be dissipated by the time we get to Perth next week. Perth could be in for a bit of a blow this weekend.

We had great NW winds this morning of about 18 knts and we were sailing happily at 7.5 knts on a broad reach on course for Perth. SW wind were forecast for this evening when all of a sudden the wind increased to over 30 knts and instantly changed from NW to SW.
Well for a couple of moments there was a lot of banging and crashing and we didn't know if we were Arthur or Martha. The boat seemed to know what was going on and we had it sorted in a few moments, the main outcome was it threw a gruntled Sterling out of her bunk (not a nice sight).

Tmoby did his thing with some great rock cakes whilst I was napping and the pink team produced a spicy spaggeti bolonaisia mit frauline meercats special garlicky bread.

Now for some tinned strawberries and ice cream (you have guessed vanilla and raison) and then oft to bed ready for the midnight shift.
I seem to run out of books so I have had to resort to a hard back version of Alistair Maclean's SAN ANDREAS which we were given by the St Helena library, it was published in 1984 and I think I read it in 1984 the first time.

Over and out

Mikey
