Greetings from a boat that had a very busy night.

Well of course the wind got up, didn't it?? suddenly it went from 9 knots to 15 knots and the autohelm (battery driven self steering gear) seemed to be yawing and swerving excessively. The wind was dead behind us though couldn't understand what changed with the autohelm. We engaged to the wind vane (wind driven self steering, which sometimes struggles with dead down wind courses) seemed to have a similar problem, tho not as serious. Managed to get the spinnaker down and got the yankee out which had less weather helm. All in all, the foredeck was like Picadilly circus.

Anyway, bread's in the oven and Pandora and I are about to learn some new french phrases, hopefully we can move of from "hungry, thirsty, tired, my name is..." to something a little more interesting. Funny how a second language comes back to you after a million years.

Farewell, sailors, keep smiling.
