DAY 12 - 35 degrees east yeah!

Ahoy little landcrabs,

I am very pleased to advise you all that we have achieved a significant geographical milestone. We are now east of the Limpopo River in Mozambique. Within the Canadian side of our family, reference is often made to the great green greasy Limpopo. An un-named source at the top of the family tree (my Mom) has advised that this is "any still water or slough that maybe had a hint of algae or weeds on the side." I think she may be referring to our pool in Willetton...Anyway, Mom will be checking with another un-named source (Brother Jim) to see what he knows. The more I think about it, the more I recall it as something that Dr. Zeuss quotes as in Dr. Zeuss "Green Eggs and Ham" fame. Is it time for the white coat with long arms or does somebody know what I am talking about??

Anyway, we are continuing to make excellent progress as we now have the current in our favour which is helping to push us along at a rate of about 7-8 knots. The wind is staying mostly southerly which is good and is allowing us a course of 112 which gives us both easting and southing, as south is where the westerlies are, allegedly.

We broke out the scabble game tonight and you will be pleased to hear that a whole series of new words have been invented for your use, typically involving the letters of X, Z and Q (without the use of a U).

bye for now

Salty Sally
