Tales of Amok's Adventures

A very large and loud greeting comes to you from AMOK as we are happily in the Southern Hemisphere!!

We crossed the equator yesterday morning and offered our two children to Neptune as a sacrifice (just kidding). But we did make them run around all morning in Hawaiian tutus and bracelets. Mike made a great rope wig for us to wear as Neptune, unfortunately, the wearer of said wig ended up looking more like an old brassy blonde tart than Neptune.

Unfortunately, crossing the equator doesn't seem to have brought any more wind our way; there have been a few hints and whispers, but we need more than hints and whispers to get our 23 tonne baby moving in the right direction.

On positive note, I have repeated my successes in the monopoly battle, which has been only slightly tempered by losing again at scrabble. I suppose that if I had to pick which one to be victorious at, I would chose monopoly. Better the capitalist than the wordsmith. I even seem to struggle with dirty word scrabble, which is a serious worry.

We hope to arrive at Ascension in a few days time.

Blog writing interrupted when we hear Toby's "dolphin alert" whistle.

I go to the bow and I see millions of dolphins, all in a straight line in front of our bow like a cavalry. It is an amazing sight. They are all in a playful mood and some even jump completely clear of the water. what a sight!!

that's all for now possums, keep smiling!
