DAY 40 - CAPE TOWN TO FREO - Thursday 27th January 2011

690 MILES AND COUNTING!

Well me hearties we have completed over 4,000 miles of our slog from Africa to Australia with only about 690 miles to go.
Fairly quiet day, we are tramping along at 7 knts plus on course for Freo, most of the crew are absorbed in the Millennium series of books by Stieg Larsson, Meercat BK.1, Tmoby BK.3. Fantastic set of books.

For the gastronomes we are having La double roasted chickens ala blue team avec stuffing, poached pommes de terre, braised cabbage and bullet carrots with of course chicken gravy com bisto. No sign of any desert** so probably tinned fruit with vanilla ice cream and raison's ??? courtesy our Breton friends from Isle St Paul.

Talking of old birds I had a controversial email from MIL (mother in law) just before 5 days of radio communication blackout, how sneaky is that!! I had to stew on it for 5 days before I could send the appropriate answer, I bet she laughed her socks off about that. Grr! Canadians !

Now 687.613 miles to go.

Time for afternoon nap.

Mikey and Amokers sans bain
**PS. during Captain's nap, the purple team whipped up a hedgehog slice, much to everybody's delight. Note: Purple team is Stirling and Tmoby, with consultative work done by Meerkat, if chocolate is involved...
