We arrived at the Kiel Locks at Holtenau at 08:30 but had to wait an hour before we could enter. Just had to slowly motor round and round until the lights changed and it was like the proverbial bun fight with everyone rushing to get in. We tied up close to the exit but further from the shop where the canal dues were paid. While Colin was paying the fees - knocking a bit of Alloro's length to reduce the rate from €35 on the way up to €18, Belinda knocked up some bacon rolls which went down a treat!
