So, we're almost all ready to set off for Porto
Santo... have completed lots of smallish jobs over the last few days, especialy
now with Foshy out with me - new cleats on the mast, draining lockers, gimballed
oil lamp, cupboard, mosquito net and oak-laminated boom.
The YM exam the other day went pretty well - passed
fine and had a lovely sunny day's sail to Portimao anchorage and back in light
winds. Attached are some photos Rob from RuSailing kindly took of Martin the
examiner, Pascal the crew (who is looking for delivery work...) and myself
underway.
We set sail tomorrow morning after filling up with petrol and should be
about 4 or 5 days with light NE winds, and have some GPS positions to check for
Anne Hammick (author of Atlantic Islands Pilot) when we get there - lookin
forward to getting some proper sailing again at last!
