Seas Subside as American yacht Enters Atlantic
Demerara Abyssal Region
As American yacht “Tenacity” continues its
journey across the Atlantic Ocean, from Cape Verde Islands to Antigua in the
Lesser Antilles, the winds that were a solid 15 – 25 knots
since the first day out, fade to nothing and the skipper,
Robert Holden decides to motor until at least the winds return. The yacht is
situated right past the half way point in an area known as the “Demerara
Abyssal” to those who spend enough time looking at the chart and
notice the odd names given to these oceanographic regions, which also include
“Research Ridge”, and “Vema Fracture Zone” (also a good name for a Rock
Band)
After 9 days of healthy downwind to broad reach
sailing, the crew of Tenacity take to some lounging, sunbathing, sun avoiding,
napping, eating and basically enjoying a little break from the frolicking rock
and roll motion that has not stopped since the first moment they left Cape
Verde. But in spite of the pleasant moment, the crew also hopes the winds
return, so they can once again return to sailing, and therefore saving fuel.
Besides considering fuel, Tenacity’s crew has
started some serious rationing of certain ship’s items such as onions, (only 7
left) Coca Colas deem “Medicinal Use Only), water (always frugal here) and Time
spent opening the refrigerator. Still, this boat is considered a
“Good Fooder” and crew members First Mate Cindy Fletcher “Extreme
Cook” Holden, and Most Wonderful Crew Member Karen “Lunch Meister” Lorenz,
will continue to create and expand the possibilities of ocean cuisine.

Tenacity Sea Products To Expand Beyond
EverDamp
EverDamp, a well known and much loved
part of sea life from Tenacity Sea Products, joined recently
by “AllSalt”, “InstaWet”, ShurSatch” and “RopeSkweek”, now offers a
variety of insurance policies, known as “EverSafe”, and financial services known
as “EverBroke”. Also, crew members Cindy Fletcher Holden and Karen
Lorenz, are currently designing clothing and accessories, which will be
called EverWear and will include the WrapAround Table Cloth, Paper Towel
Sun Guard and Living Cat Scarf. EverWear will be holding its
first Fashion show later this Spring.
EverDamp recently launched its first World
Promotion Tour, and hopes to continue to expand into more exciting products and
services!!
