We are docked safely in a marina in mainland Europe. Portugal be exact.
City of Cascais to be more exact. At the Marina De Cacais to get a bit
anal.
Casais is at the mouth of the Rio Tejo. Lisbon is up the river a bit.
The wind filled in quite nicely and we were able to sail on a close
reach the last 30 hours of sailing, in a healthy 20 –25 knot NE wind. We
crossed the busy shipping channel this morning right after “sunrise” (it was
windy an cloudy, no sun) and then the sky gradually cleared and we had a
beautiful sunny breezy entrance into our first European River!!!!!!!!!
Two perfect landings, one at the reception dock, and one in our slip. I was
in the zone.
Our boat looks right at home at this first class marina!
So the next step is to go up river and find a bit less first class, ergo,
less expensive marina! But for now, we are here relishing in the fact that we
crossed the entire Atlantic Ocean! 3000 plus miles under our now
salty belts! Time for a long shower and champagne!!
