We left Bermuda with a stiff NE wind 20 knots, and sunny. As the day went on it dropped to 15 but stayed that and NE through the night and is still NE down to 12 knots. We were beating across the Atlantic! (is that allowed?)  We JUST tacked to the North. If we had kept going, we would  have had to learn to speak Arabic.  But during the night, the boat was sailing so steady we hardly had to touch the wheel. And with no autopilot turned on!!  It just sailed itself. Now that we are on the other tack, it’s a bit less stable going into the waves, but still very pleasant.  This wind is supposed to go light and then become big and SW.
The night was so beautiful. The moon was full and bright, the voices in my head were saying “Golly!” like Gomer Pile and “Holy Toledo” like Radar  from TV show MASH.
We put a stainless grab rail in the main salon to make it safer to move around the cabin. It looks like a ballet barr (spell?) and instantly became a place to hang stuff.   Easier to do ballet on starboard tack. as if I do ballet.
But pilates comes in handy on the 3 – 6 AM  watch when the boat is steering itself!
