Intention: to sail to the Clyde (Kip
Marina) 13 June
We slipped Howth at 0515UT and proceed
under headsail only in anticipation of the strong winds to come as yet another
Low tracked across the British Isles. By mid-day we were experiencing 25
knots from the east which gradually increased as we continued north round the
eastern tip of Northern Ireland, peaking at 30, and then it rained.
This continued until just south of Belfast Lough when the skies
cleared and the wind dropped, easing our entry into Bangor Marina.
The barometer dropped 10 points during the passage.
A late supper of pork chops with veg
stylishly prepared by Sandy followed by showers ended an exhausting day with
miserable sailing conditions although we covered a good
distance.
