Intention: to sail to
France (Camaret 148NM)
After a slow down-wind sail in light
airs and occasional reduced visibility yesterday afternoon and evening, the wind
veered and increased overnight to NW 15 - 20 knots giving a fast white sail
reach. The swell has reduced; the thick cloud cover started
to clear mid morning and we are now enjoying bright sunshine,
although rather cold. We expect to be in Camaret Marina (Port
Vauban) by tomorrow afternoon.
Shipping traffic and fishing activity
have increased as we approach Ushant and our AIS is proving its worth.
There are also regular sightings of dolphins and a marked increase in
phospherence in our wake overnight; a spotted right boot was also
observed!
We are looking forward to showers and a
meal ashore tomorrow. |
