We were up early again and way from Glenarm at 04.30 to catch the ebb tide north. The bright morning soon gave way to dreich conditions and on passing Rathlin Island you could smell the peat smoke but barely see the island.

Different attire to the Caribbean!

Gradually the wind backed slightly and still with tide we sailed north past Islay until we started pushing tide in the Sound of Jura.

Early afternoon – Sound of Jura                                                                        Approaching the Corryvreckan

Glorious sailing by now in bright sunshine we had nearly 5 knots of tide against us as we approached Corryvreckan but a glorious reach up Loch Shuna then a run down Loch Melfort as we broke out the bubbly! Welcomed by friends and neighbours we picked up our mooring just over 12 hours after leaving Glenarm; 625 miles logged from Southampton and 3 years and 2 weeks after leaving home and having logged over 14,000 miles.
