Mayreau to Tobago Cays
12.37.841N 061.21.425W 28.9 Miles logged Another brisk sail south but the Cays did not look attractive in the grey sky so we anchored in Saline Bay, Mayreau and after a walk up the hill and a quick rum punch in Robert Righteous and de Youfs bar we enjoyed dinner in the cockpit. View from Mayreau looking over the Tobago Cays The following day we headed east to the Tobago Cays where the sun was now shining but still the sea conditions were far from ideal. Skipper and the new crew! Good snorkelling with the turtles and out on the reef where we saw a “Southern Ray”. The moon was full which meant spring tides and the extra height did not encourage staying behind the reef so the next day we headed round to Clifton on Union Island. |
