Never having ‘cruised’ down the Channel before we were relieved that Portland Bill Race was benign and we settled into another great sail across Lyme Bay and entered Salcombe at 1700 where we picked up a visitor mooring off the town.

We joined Jonno and Rosie for a meal ashore and had planned to push on into Cornwall the next day but forecast W/NW winds followed by threats of Gale Force 8 have kept us here for a couple of days!
