Anguilla is delightful; everything you could want for an idyllic tropical
island. Jewel coloured water, loads of wildlife and friendly people. In fact as
our name is Brookes, we have been welcomed especially warmly everywhere we go,
as this is an old Anguillan name! So customs, immigration and even the
restaurant on the seafront where we ate our dinner treated us like old
Anguillans returning home!
Too good to be true? Well there is a hitch. Only two bays on the
whole island permit an overnight stay. And if we wish to venture out of this
one, Road Bay, then the cruising permit is a lavish 950 East Caribbean Dollars a
week. As we are well aware that the next few weeks in the British Virgin Islands
could be quite expensive, this is one luxury that we are going to have to
decline! Hard decisions, even in paradise!!!
