Improving weather

Hello again,
I’m pleased to report that, for the moment at least, we have left the
offending area of low pressure behind us, and with that has come a marked change
in the sea.
After sending yesterday’s blog entry we waited a little longer and then
brought the sails round and set off once more. For the first time so far this
trip we had wind forward of the beam. The sea was still large, but overnight the
wind eased until by 6am this morning it was a shadow of its former self. After
breakfast we stowed the storm jib and put up all plain sail once more and are
now making our way southwest, close-hauled on the port tack. It is remarkably
also how much the sea has calmed, just since last night. While not smooth by any
imagining, it is now much more manageable.
Precious little of note has happened I’m afraid. We saw a few dolphins from
far off this morning, but unfortunately lost them fairly quickly amongst the
waves. We actually remembered to eat the avocados for lunch as well, which is
unusual in itself. The sun is up again and for the moment all is well.
