Friday Sept 17th 1500hrs EST (0500UTC)16:38.48S,
Back on the water after a short stay in Cairns.
After arriving, we had a fewdays rest, then pulled the yacht out of the water on
Sept 9th. I spent about a day rubbing back the hull, and did a trial fit of the
new folding propeller. After arranging for the keel to be faired (the damage
from Vanuatu was much less than I expected) and a few areas of anchor damaged
below the water line to be filled, and for the engine to be serviced, I headed
off to Perth for a few days with Tracy and the girls - wonderful to see them
again.
Flew back with Mike Clarke on Wednesday night,
relaunched FKv yesterday, as well as getting provisions for the trip to Cape
York and beyond to Darwin.
Had to leave the Marlin Marina by 1000hrs so
unfortunately I missed Jeanette who flew in at 1230hrs.
Very pleasant sailing now up the coast inside the
reef.
Distance to Darwin - a long way!
