August 16th 2010, 1700hrs local time
(0400UTC)
After 4 days at Nuku'alofa, Kingdom of Tonga, we
set sail at 1430 hrs for Lautoka in Fiji. After 5 days of 15-20kts of easterly,
there is now 6kts of north-easterly. While the conditions are made for champagne
sailing, at this pace it will be a week before we get to Fiji. The motor is
slowly helping us get to 6kts. At this pace we expect to get to Lautoka in 3
days and 20hrs (ie just after lunch on Thursday 19th).
We have said goodbye to Josh and Gerard. They were
great company and will be missed. In the end were reluctant to leave after
meeting some delightful, young German dentists!
We welcome Ray & Janet. Ray brought over the
sleeve for the boom. Between the two of us we put it all together, it looks as
straight as a carpenter would like and we are up and going again.
399nm to Lautoka.
