August 26th 1500hrs local time
Well, a lot has happened since yesterday. No sooner
had I sent off yesterdays note, when the fishing line went tight and we pulled
in a 4' long mahi mahi. It was soon filleted and went into the fridge joining
the remaining fillet of the barracuda. I had let the line out again to clean it
and didn't really want more fish so started pulling it in. On the end was a 10kg
blue fin tuna. This was cut into steaks and joined the rest of the fish. I did
some small pieces of the tuna in lime juice and coconut milk - very good! Then
had barracuda and veges with pineapple and banana and yoghurt for
sweets.
At about midnight last night after a wonderful
fullmoon rise, it bucketed with rain. I rekon an inch in 1/2 an
hour.
The wind has remained fairly kind and has pushed us
along to a point where I am almost confident we will be in Port Vila Friday
afternoon.
Distance to go 140nm
