POSITION 34:45S 173:58E Just spoke to Hamish and he says that the Cavalli
islands are in sight – just 13 miles to their south. They had a pretty rough night with some wild squalls
coming through, but currently sailing 220deg in sunny conditions. The system reports they have 25 NM to their BOI
waypoint which they expect to make at about dusk tonight. They will need to
sail about 50nm to get there, unless the wind goes further to the west –
which it is predicted to do late morning. Hamish says he is very tired – hasn’t had
much sleep over the last couple of nights and looking forward to getting in. We will speak again at around 5pm to check their
progress. M |
