Almost back in Rodney Bay.... we arrived in Marigot Bay yesterday afternoon after a trip up from St Vincent. We seemed to have all conditions - sun, no sun, lots of wind, no wind, rain, no rain......the usual vagaries of sailing.....

As recommended, we motor sailed up the coast of St Vincent and hoisted the genoa once the wind between the islands was established. The pilot book likens sailing between St Vincent and St Lucia as being in a washing machine with strong winds and confused seas. It is!  By the time we got in the lee of St Lucia the wind died before going completely on the nose and we then motor sailed up the coast. It rained a lot- I have a photo of John in his oilies to prove it - so much for a hot and sunny caribbean! Plan A had been to maybe visit Soufriere again as it is very nice but there are quite large northerly swells at the moment arising from strong hurricane strength winds up near the American coast which would make this spot quite an uncomfortable one. We therefore went for Plan B and returned to Marigot which is very sheltered and very picturesque.

We were pretty tired last night as our mooring in Wallilabou had been rolly due to the aforementioned northerly swells (despite having a stern line out) and we didnt have a brilliant night. (or the rum cocktails may have had something to do with it?!)  An early start to come north as well.... so it was happy hour at Chateau Mygo, a meal on board and a film  for us last night - we have been wallowing in nostalgia this trip with two Richard Gere classics - An Officer and a Gentleman and Pretty Woman! What a sad pair we are!

The weather is rubbish at time of blogging - almost continual showers and very humid. We are being very boring catching up with some reading, chilling and blogging!
