Interim blog report from Rodney Bay Marina, St Lucia 14:04.44N 060:56.98W

The mate’s sister (my lovely sister in law) left us yesterday; she’d been with us for two weeks.

As we realised that a blog or two was well overdue, our intention was to get started writing straight away (plus we have many photos). But, our time in Martinique, our passage to St Lucia and Vicky’s visit will have to wait. The mate and I may be out of action for a while – the reason is that there is currently a Tropical Low heading our way. The weather forecasters are predicting a possible hurricane, the track of which could be anywhere between Granada and St Lucia, most weather models have the route currently over the northern Grenadines but the system is still two to three days away. Normally you could head south, but that seems madness to me at the moment and going north is usually once of the most stupid things to do as hurricanes turn to the north. We may, or may not, decide to leave Rodney Bay but at present out thinking is to hunker down here. Admiral Rodney declared it to be a hurricane hole after all…

You can guess that we aren’t overly pleased to be in this position, but the weather information hasn’t been as definite until the last day or two.  So, we’ll aim to report back soon as to what happened and also, hopefully, to fill in with what we’ve been up to recently.

For now, we’re off to make some decisions and to get Stargazer as ready as possible for whatever comes.
