Figueira da Foz arrived 25th August
Since arriving at Figueira the temperature is noticeably up, the sky without
a hint of a cloud, and so suddenly an evening out at a road side restaurant
becomes real and very pleasant. Our passage here was good too with sunny,
good visibility and the rolling swell gave way to a pleasant beam reach even
though true wind of about 12 knots broke no speed records.

Figueira is a good marina to access the town although true to form with
Portugal marinas they appear to be security mad in terms of fob or
electronic card entry to pontoons. This would not be so bad if we had a fob
each. Instead, one between three becomes a logistics teaser unless we come
and go everywhere together. I really think we spend plenty of time together
on the yacht and under passage. Now we are unable to escape the gravity of
family togetherness to go to the loo!

We found a fine market is Figueira selling all manner of fruit, fish and a
large selection of nuts and dried fruit. Sarah said the stalls were like
those she saw in Vietnam. One stall shown in photo together with us eating
out and drinking aboard.

No sooner have I said the weather has improved when we awake next day to
rain. No reason to stay longer so let's keep moving to find that elusive
sunshine.
