Hi there,

Keeping well clear of the coast of Cuba.... as the US Coastguard still gets upset if you get too close.

The seas and winds have now calmed down as predicted and we are motor-sailing in fairly flat conditions. The current has lessened as the Gulf Stream loops off to the north here. So not making such good time now, though it is much more comfortable. The current loops back a bit further ahead, so we hope to pick it up again later tonight.  Yesterdays sailing was fairly lively in 24 kts of wind and a 3kt current (hence the rather curt update) but we clocked a speed of 10kts at one point. (Shamal hasn't seen that since we went through the Alderney Race).

That's it for now.

Best Wishes
