Hi there,

As you can see, we have started heading north, making our way slowly up the Exuma chain of islands. We are sailing in convoy with 2 other boats owned by an American couple that we met in Italy way back in 2008 and their (now our also) friends. We are currently near Staniel Cay which is about half way up the chain. This is where they shot the scene in Thunderball where 007 swims into a grotto type cave and saves the day. The rest of the movie was shot mainly in this area.

It is also famous for the “Swimming Pigs”. This is a beach where some pigs have been released (as a tourist attraction I guess) They swim out to your boat and you can feed them on any leftovers from dinner.  We anchored out a way so that they wouldn’t actually come out to our boat when we are swimming. Swimming with dolphins is one thing………

We are aiming for Spanish Wells at the north end of Eleuthera as our next major destination though we will take a few days to get there. This is where we will wait for winds to make the hop across to the Abacos island group. We will probably not be able to find Internet until we get to Spanish Wells, so don’t worry if there is a gap in these updates.
