Well. We have just
arrived at Curacao after what was a pretty rough old crossing. 365 Miles in just
under 2.5 days.
The winds picked up when we got about half way
across to about 25 kts and the seas were about 8-10 ft. We also picked up the
Equatorial Current which meant that we needed to steer about 10 deg further
east. This put us on a close reach.... which was not nice in those conditions.
Georgina was definately unhappy at one stage! (maybe more than one
actually!!)
Anyway, we have arrived and.. oh the bliss of
having the boat not bounce around. We are too late to make for our final
destination of Spanish Water today. So we plan to just hunker down for the night
at anchor here (off a beach just south of "Noordpunt" and start again in the
morning. Now that we are in the lee of the island, we should have a pleasant
sail.
Hope everyone is well!
Best Wishes,
John & Georgina
