Florida!..... and several degrees warmer!

We left Beaufort NC on Friday. There was a window of weather which gave a mix of winds, but all from a direction that allowed us to sail south. So we set off around lunchtime to catch the tide (tides are a big factor in in this area.) and headed out for our first trip out to sea for over 7 months. (Everything since then has been either bay sailing or motoring on the ICW).
The trip was fine! It did get a bit bouncy when the wind got up to 30kts, but it and the seas were behind us. So a fairly fast trip and we pulled in to a bay just north of Fernandina at last light on Sunday. 350 miles in just over 2 days.
We will have a few days off as we are close to Cumberland Island National Park. We had some lovely walks here when we stopped on the way north. Fernandina is also a nice town. The temps are still cool in the evenings, but definitely warmer during the day.
Will update when we start moving again.
Bye for now.
John & Georgina.
