Yet again a change of plans. Just before arriving at New potatoes I received a weather report that would have had us sheltering from the weather for 5 days. So after much discussion and deliberation the decision was made to head for Fiji at all haste and try and get in before the predicted winds built the seas. Luckily Newpotatoes was almost on the Rhum line anyway so no more than a couple of hours lost.
20 to 25 knts predicted but the main worry is going through the Northern pass with this much wind on the nose with charts that seam to be up to a mile out compared to the GPS and at night. Tomorrow will tell.
Noi was nipped on the leg by a mean little mutt in Pago just before we left so she hopes that is the bad luck for the passage used up.
