Day 3 FH
Up at 06:30 start cleaning the unbelievable mess
off the hull. All manner of living creatures have taken up residence on our
sides and bottom, boats bottom that is. 6 hours later and up to my armpits in
mussels and other unknown crustacean like freeloaders it is time to take Noi in
to the dry festivities. One ship which is the local supply ship that comes every
couple of weeks and brings about 80 tourists with it. That’s that question
sorted.
Never did make it to the policeman at 08:00. We are
not allowed to clear in here by the way, we are supposed to have gone directly
to Hiva Oa to clear in then come back here on a beat if we wanted to see the
island. Can’t be bothered with that so I am dragging my feet checking in with
the local copper.
Noi enjoys the Polynesian dancing, all with young girls, 10 years old and below, which is why I gave it a miss. When I go back to pick her up I check in with Mr
Plod. He asks why we haven’t checked in at Hiva Oa, I tell him quite correctly
that we were tired and wanted to stop for a night and have had to work on the
boat since then. He says he understands and do I have a bottle of rum! Whey hey
we are back in Panama!
